The second Dartmouth Entrepreneurs Network last Friday blew away all expectations. Hundreds of truly amazing tech entrepreneurs and executives made it an incredibly worthwhile day, and made me really appreciate how fortunate I am to be part of the Dartmouth network.
Last year I watched from the sidelines as three very compelling and interesting companies duked it out for a cash prize in the startup competition. This year, I enjoyed putting my gloves on and joining the fray.
Kudos to Traveling Spoon for their win - a P2P marketplace that makes connecting with real locals for a meal in foreign locales is a brilliant idea both as a consumer, and as a former travel industry guy. Best idea I’ve heard in that space since I heard about Uber back in 2009. Also kudos to InterviewCake, the 3rd place finisher, who have built something incredibly interesting.
As for us - our 2nd place finish is the first plaque that will go on our new office when we move in next month. Hopefully it won’t be lonely for too long.
The rest of the conference educated and inspired. For any other Dartmouth alums out there in or near the tech space it is worth making the trip to SF to connect with peers making the world a better place through technology and entrepreneurship.
